For as long as I can possibly remember,
my greatest passion has always been art. My mother, sister, and
grandmothers are all incredibly talented women who have always
encouraged my artistic growth. I have so many positive memories from my
childhood, and now, looking back, truly realize the benefit of each
creative effort! Here's to the days....... making clothes for barbie,
visiting a ceramics studio each summer in Florida, fashion designing
with friends, selling friendship bracelets are fairs, putting flyers
throughout the neighborhood to promote "gift-wrapping" services,
attending summer art programs, and entering as many contests as
possible! When I was about fourteen, I began my own
mural painting business and have been selling custom artwork ever since. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the lovely
Longwood University, and am currently completing my Master of Arts in
Art Education through Boston University. Overall, I
feel art is a way of living. We are always surrounded by inspiration ~
it is just a matter of learning how to absorb and appreciate what we
see. Art has always been my passion and in many ways, is my greatest
escape to an inner stillness.
I currently work at a
private school where I assist with all web, design, and communication
needs. I was finally able to leave my full time position to pursue my art business full time, while also teaching Junior Kindergarten and Pre-School Art. When asked what I do for a living, I often stumble for a second and wonder if they want to hear the whole list -- artist, business owner, Etsian, painter, photographer, blogger, graphic designer, teacher, crafter, baker, party-planner, and art vendor (online and in several
boutiques).
I am also very newly engaged, and look
forward to sharing little sneak peaks of my planning process! On August 24, 2012 I married the sweetest man I've ever know and could not feel more fortunate!
I loved every single minute of the wedding planning process. At times, planning a destination wedding across the country had it's tricky moments, but it was all worth it in the end. As you might imagine, our day included LOTS of DIY projects. Click here to see blog posts related to our big day!
