Ashley + Nick - Charlottesville Engagement Session - Virginia Wedding Photographer

It was a beautiful late September day when I met with Ashley and Nick for their Charlottesville Engagement Session!
Ashley and I actually go way back (high school buddies), and I was thrilled when she reached out wanting photos! They're eagerly prepping for their destination wedding in Jamaica in a few months, and I have no doubt it's going to be stunning!

Before I share a few favorite photos from their session, here's a quick recap of their little love journey:
Ashley and Nick met through an online dating website in August 2012 and enjoyed their 3 hour first date! Nick says he remembers looking into her eyes and thinking, "Wow, this girl is gorgeous, smart AND she seems to like you...DONT MESS THIS UP!"
After the butterflies of that date, it was smooth sailing.
They were inseparable until Ashley's deployment in December, and she says, "I could not have asked for a more supportive and loving partner through the 5 months I was gone. I knew after making it through that, there was no chance I was ever letting Nick go!"

During a July vacation together, Nick put his proposal plans into action.
He arranged for her to have a pedicure and massage during the day (so sweet!), and then had a surprise dinner planned. Actually, he'd rented out the Rear Range Lighthouse in downtown Newburyport, MA for their private candlelit dinner! Later, from the top of the lighthouse, they enjoyed the sunset before Nick dropped to his knee and asked Ashley to be his wife! She admits, "in true girl style, became hysterical and said yes between sobs."

I'd passed this willow spot a while back and have been waiting for the chance to bring a couple here. Little did I realize the trek would be a bit... adventurous (let's just say a tad muddy and a tiny chance we were going to get hit with golfballs). I'm just thankful these two were such champs about it!
Talk about a stunning rock!! Well done, Nick!
I have to send a thank you to one of the grounds crew workers who told us to make sure and find the steps with the words on it ;)
How sweet is this?

Ashley and Nick - I wish you two so much happiness and can't thank you enough for this fun opportunity!
It was such a joy to watch you flirt and laugh with one another. I hope these photos are cherished forever!

Almost immediately after sending the photos their way, I received the sweetest comments and review from Ashley!
It's moments like these that make me love my job even more!

"Danielle you are so talented!! Not only did our engagement pictures come out better then I could have imagined, but you made the whole experience so fun for us! The turn around on the pictures was very quick and the prices were extremely reasonable. Overall, we just could not be happier! I can't begin to thank you enough!!"
